About us
A locally grown tech business with five years of field experience across Trans Nzoia County.
A straightforward story about a gap in Kitale's market and the decision to fill it properly.
Minteorbit was founded in 2019 by a small group of tech practitioners who had spent years watching Kitale's businesses overpay for under-skilled service. The pattern was consistent: a laptop would go to a downtown technician, come back with the same fault, go again, and eventually get written off. Meanwhile, affordable, quality repair and IT support remained concentrated in Nairobi — a nine-hour round trip most small business owners simply couldn't justify. The founding team decided to change that by setting up a properly equipped workshop on Kenyatta Street, hiring technicians with verifiable certifications, and charging rates calibrated to what North Rift incomes could sustainably support. By the end of the first year, the team had completed over 200 device repairs and three small-office IT installations. The business has grown organically since, primarily through word of mouth from clients who had previously been burned by the alternatives. Minteorbit now serves individuals, sole traders, schools, and small enterprises across the entirety of Trans Nzoia County.
Honest process, realistic timelines, and clear limits on what we can and can't fix.
Every job at Minteorbit starts with a diagnostic conversation — either in person, by phone, or by WhatsApp — where we gather enough detail to give you a realistic scope and cost before anything is booked. We don't upsell parts you don't need, and we don't pad timelines to create a cushion for ourselves. If the honest answer is that your device is beyond economical repair, we tell you that during the assessment and help you find the right replacement at a fair price through our supply network. There are things we do not do: we don't offer software development or custom app builds, we don't provide managed cloud hosting, and we don't operate outside Kenya. Results for IT infrastructure projects depend partly on your ISP's reliability in your area — something outside our control, which we flag upfront in every scoping call. Our strength is hands-on, in-person technical work in and around Kitale, done by a small team that takes individual responsibility for each job.
Five years in, the figures tell a clearer story than any tagline could.
